About Us

The Rochester Meditation Center (RMC) was started by guiding teacher, Doug McGill, in 2004, and grew pre-pandemic to include the meditation sits, as well as day-long retreats, movie nights and six week courses on "An Introduction to Meditation."

As the pandemic struck and Doug moved on to other aspects of teaching and writing, we incorporated and moved on-line. Zoom information goes out to our subscriber list a half an hour before the meetings.

The Joy of Generosity

The Rochester Meditation Center exists because of the kind and generous donations of intention and energy by spiritual friends. Dana ("DAH-nuh") is the practice of cultivating generosity, in all forms, by volunteering material, emotional or spiritual support. The RMC needs financial support for invited speakers, the website,  educational and practice materials. Please consider giving a financial donation online. You may give a single gift or set up recurring donations. We are so grateful for your commitment and generosity.
